Student Responsibilities

We expect all future, current and former students at all times:

respect the individuality and rights of all future, current and former students
respect the rights of all future, current and former staff and to treat them in a fair and civil manner
maintain privacy and confidentiality in respect to all matters relating to students and staff
adhere to the directors and instructions provided by staff
conduct your studies in a safe manner that does not endanger others in the course or our business
participate positively and respectfully inside and outside of class
adhere to all policies and procedures, including any rules and regulations communicated to you directly or indirectly via our website

Staff Responsibilities

We expect staff to demonstrate professionalism and integrity with their interactions with all future, current and former students, staff and stakeholders. For the purposes of this policy, we consider tutors as part of our staff, including ABN/contracted tutors or volunteer based tutors. We expect staff will:

treat all students with respect and curtesy
foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
maintain privacy and confidentiality in respect to all matters relating to students and staff
ensure that directions provided to students are clear, fair and promote a safe, positive and engaging learning experience where reasonably possible
support students learning by maintaining open lines of communication with students, responding to questions and concerns in a timely and respectful manner where reasonably possible
engage in continuous professional development to ensure high-standards of teaching quality are maintained

We adhere to the employment laws that govern the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) and National Industrial Relations under Fair Work Australia, as they are applied in Australia and updated from time to time. Conditions of employment are contained in our employment contracts and those that are applicable under the National Employment Standards (NES).

Contracted staff or volunteer staff are not subject to employment laws, but may be subject to other relevant laws and regulations under State, Territory or National laws and regulations. All contracted staff are expected to hold a valid Australian Business Number (ABN) and provide a valid tax invoice for services rendered.

We reserve the right to conduct background checks at any time (such as police checks, or license checks) that are related to any staff, contractor or volunteer to ensure compliance with any applicable regulations or laws and for the safety and integrity of students, staff and stakeholders.

Age limitation

Our courses have been designed for adults. Therefore any person who is under the age of 18 years at the time of enrolment is not permitted to proceed with any course. A person under the age of 18 by virtue of being on the cusp of turning 18 may only proceed with their enrolment in a course if the terms are confirmed and negotiated by the school admin, the tutor, a parent or guardian of the individual. Our Refund Policy will not be deemed invalid if a person under the age of 18 is allowed to proceed under these special circumstances.

Fees

Unless otherwise stated, all fees applicable for a course are for tuition only and do not include the cost of any government charges, taxes, consumables, learning materials or any other incidental costs. The fees charged for a course my change from time to time.

Discounts

In any enrolment period we may for what ever reason we see fit, provide a discount on our course fees. This may be done via written offers, promotional codes, or negotiation with students under special circumstances. Offers may also be made verbally by authorised staff only. Any discount offered must be taken immediately and cannot be used retrospectively.

Taxes

You are responsible for any taxes, duties or other liabilities imposed by any International Government and/or Australian Government or agency. This includes without limitations, any GST, customs or import duties for learning material or any other goods or services supplied to you that you purchase privately or through us.

Advertised dates and times

We aim to advertise dates and times as accurately as possible. However, these may change without warning for a variety of reasons. If this is the case, we will make reasonable attempts to contact you to inform you of the changes. Where we have made all reasonable attempts to contact you and you do not respond to us, this does not invalidate our Refund Policy. It still remains your responsibility to ensure that you are able to be contacted and respond appropriately to any communications we make with you regarding your enrolment.
